New workflows, provider changes, dependency updates and operational feedback all affect a running system. Architecture should make those changes understandable. Handover should make ownership and operation practical.
We consider maintenance while defining the initial work: the documentation people will need, the important paths to test and the responsibilities that should be agreed. Ongoing support and improvements are scoped separately.
